It's actually warm somewhere.

“I've got some ocean front property in Arizona

From my front porch, you can see the sea

I've got some ocean front property in Arizona

If you'll buy that, I'll throw the Golden Gate in free.”

Right now, as I look out my window, Arizona weather could not be any different from Glen Ellyn, IL; that is unless it’s 16-degrees, snowing, and their homes have huge icicles hanging down from gutters. In other words, right now, it would be great to escape from what we know as winter!

If you have been there, you know they have some of the most unusual and beautiful scenery “I personally” have ever seen. Whether it’s the saguaro’s, the multi-colored mountains, and even baseball spring training (okay, baseball isn’t beautiful but it is when it’s early March!)—there’s something really cool about the area.

In case you think I am being paid to promote Arizona in “Snap.Shot.” I am not. Every day I have approximately 4 readers who come to spend a few minutes reading whatever I feel like writing about. For a couple of years I did cover the state for business—-I truly enjoyed venturing around the state to go take photographs. It was like my trusty Nikon was begging me to pull off the road, go to a rest stop, and/or drive for many miles to capture the beauty of the state.

There is one thing I didn’t see when I was there, I didn’t see any snakes. If I had, I would not be writing this right now as I would likely be dead. I don’t like snakes, and I know they are there looking for me.

One thing I plan to do one day, and it is on my bucket list, is to visit the “dark skies” area near the rim of the Grand Canyon. You can probably guess it’s dark, and you can assume that if you took a few wrong steps, it would be your last night—but if you have seen the photos from this area, you know they’re nothing short of amazing.

The photo above was taken in March 2020 right before COVID hit the area; I was traveling down a lonely highway, and saw cactus by the side of the road. I have learned, the hard way, that cactus can shed their needles on the ground. Before I took this picture, I made sure there were no surprises waiting for me—-the only one was the beauty of the photo.

Thanks for stopping by.
