Next stop, back to normal.

“Oh, can't you see the morning after?

It's waiting right outside the storm

Why don't we cross the bridge together

And find a place that's safe and warm?”

We made it, welcome to 2021. Whereas I knew we would, I was not sure if there was going to be a royal send off at 11:59 PM yesterday. I am happy to report, at least in our household, all went according to plan. There were 60 ticks of a second hand and suddenly 2020 was history.

I try not to be too superstitious but there was a feeling in the back of my head that something might happen. I had remembered 21 years ago when the world was not sure if planes would fall from the sky, computers would go blank, and suddenly we would be back to a point of our lives where advanced technology would be years ahead of us. Again, fortunately nothing happened.

As we move forward into the new year, resolutions have suddenly begun and perhaps by now a third of them have been forgotten or broken. It never takes long. Where we live the health clubs are open—-after being closed for many months—but if this were a typical start to a new year, they would be bustling by now. That typically continues for a week and then things get back to comfortable couches, excuses, and desserts. That’s okay, the health clubs have signed people up on plans and many people will not visit for months— their money, however will continue to be removed from their checking accounts for months to come.

So what am I hoping for in this new year? Thanks for asking.

I want to get back to yesterday, today and tomorrow; as far as yesterday, I am referring to 2019 and earlier. Today is the start of taking what we have learned through all of this mess and taking care of our families and friends. With regard to tomorrow….I want some form of life back as to how it was—-and I am very excited for the future. If we can’t look forward, we are doomed. I am not going to be doomed, please feel the same, I would like to have you keep coming to “Snap.Shot.”

The photo above was taken many many years ago. That’s my youngest daughter at Morton Arboretum; she went through the tunnel to the other side the results were a beautiful young woman. The future has a lot of good things in store, let’s charge forward and make the most of it.

Thanks for stopping by.
